They must be in sheet form (sheet or rolls).<\/p>\n<h3>Tools (Moulds)<\/h3>\n<p>They may be made of the following materials<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aluminium: Undefined life cycle. For long series. Provides good finish for parts.<\/li>\n<li>Resin: Prototype phase. Short series.<\/li>\n<li>Wood: Practically in disuse today. Samples or short series.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-15017 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.plasnor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/tec1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"227\" height=\"159\" \/><\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Thermoforming process<\/h3>\n<p>Consists of the following steps:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Board extrusion<\/li>\n<li>Placement of board on the mould<\/li>\n<li>Heating<\/li>\n<li>Moulding by applying vacuum<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15033 size-full alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.plasnor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/tec2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"447\" height=\"86\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wp.plasnor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/tec2.jpg 447w, https:\/\/wp.plasnor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/tec2-300x58.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 447px) 100vw, 447px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>PROCESS PHASES<\/h3>\n<ul class=\"procesos\">\n<li><strong>Preparation<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The mould is placed in the thermoforming machine.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15037 size-full alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.plasnor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/tec3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"165\" height=\"110\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Placement<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>A plastic sheet (for example, ABS) is placed on the mould.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15041\" src=\"https:\/\/www.plasnor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/tec4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"165\" height=\"110\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Heating<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The plastic sheet is heated until it softens.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15045\" src=\"https:\/\/www.plasnor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/tec5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"165\" height=\"110\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15049\" src=\"https:\/\/www.plasnor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/tec6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"165\" height=\"110\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Moulding<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Vacuum pressure is applied, and this removes all of the air under the plastic. The atmospheric pressure on the plastic makes it adapt to the mould.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15021\" src=\"https:\/\/www.plasnor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/tec7.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"165\" height=\"110\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Cooling<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>With an internal mould cooling circuit and fans, the plastic is cooled. Once sufficiently cooled, the vacuum is turned off.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 80px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15025\" src=\"https:\/\/www.plasnor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/tec8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"165\" height=\"110\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Removal from mould<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The plastic is removed from the moulding machine.
